Approximate section of sky where observed is: lat 38.739 long -90.6141 time and date are approximate. i was outside at the time smoking a cigarette. i looked up to watch the stars. i saw what seemed to be a plane or satellite with 3 lights; one on each corner. it moved northwest to southwest in what seemed the speed of an airplane, then seemed to stop overhead. it seemed to hover or remain stationary at the point in the sky above me. the object did not seem to change its altitude and was very far above, possibly in space or the upper atmosphere. due to light pollution and cloudiness, i could not make out anymore than the lights which were roughly on each corner of an isosceles triangle shape, which was dark and scarcely visible. i felt sort of odd, and the sighting took me a while to mentally process, and days before i decided to search the area for reports and ultimately file this one. i walked back inside at the time and forgot about it, but it's been in the back of my mind since i sighted it. i have told no one of the incident until now. the attached screenshot is approximately the section of sky where the object was observed.
