First Half: Timothy Beckley, author, publisher, and paranormal investigator, joins George Knapp to discuss sci-fi author Philip K. Dick’s declaration that “we are living in a computer-programmed reality and an alternative world.” Drawing on dozens of Dick’s personal experiences, as well as others in the paranormal fields, Beckley will describe why Dick’s synchronicities and stories were not entirely science-fiction, but science alternate-reality – – in a universe that cannot be so easily grasped or explained. Second Half: The human race is caught in the crosshairs of twin threats stemming from exponential advances in technology: easy access to weapons of mass destruction by terrorists, and the development of artificial intelligence that could take over our infrastructure. Artificial intelligence expert, Peter Scott, will discuss the stark choices and consequences facing us with a path that might lead us through the crucible to a future of limitless promise.
