Eclipse eugene, oregon @ 10:12am was taking place. 1st witness pointed out to me a strange dark 'thing' that was drifting by. i had dslr in hand, but with polarized lens filter on for direct sunlight. i was able to snap a few shots. the levels can be adjusted. during the eclipse, dogs were heard barking, and the air seemed very still with a pink hue to everything. i was also using a camcorder to capture the event. a 1st witness that was watching the event as well and had called out to me regarding a dark 'thing' that was drifting by. i saw a dark object drifting by at an even steady rate, about line of sight to some close tree tops. i would say, at about 30-45 degrees up facing to the east. the object was very dark and hard to make out as it drifted by, and with the eclipse in progress, the lighting was dim with a pink hue, since eugene, or was not in the 'zone' for totality. i had my dslr ready, and remembered that all the settings were for the direct sunlight and i was using a polarized lens filter. i had to quickly make adjustments for exposure for non-direct sunlight. i was only able to photograph 7 images before the object was 'lost' behind a large nearby pine tree, and the focus was sketchy. i had opened the jpeg files of the object from the nef raw conversion and adjusted the levels. i was able to bring out further detail with those adjustments. what you get are the converted jpeg images uploaded, no adjustments. you will have to make adjustments to bring out detail.
