On the evening of october 3, 2015 at approximately 7:30 pm, i had taken my dog out for the evening. my home is on the south side of hilliard, and the columbus airport is due east of where i live. so, i am used to seeing aircraft every evening, coming and going to this airport in looking due west, i caught sight of a round white light, at an altitude of a plane flying over columbus, not on a landing course. the light was pulsating on a 1 second on, then a 3 second off, then repeated the whole time i observed it. the oddity was that the distance the objective covered when blacked out was tremendous. i would guesstimate it was 5 or 6 miles west of hilliard when i 1st saw it. it flew directly over columbus on an eastern course. from when i 1st saw it to when i last saw it, it covered at least 10 miles in 10 to 15 seconds! if it were the size of a commercial airliner, i estimate it's altitude at 30-35k feet. my son and i have an interest in astronomy and planed, so after watching the object for 10 to 15 seconds, i ran approximately 50 yards to my front door, opened it and called my son, and grabbed my cell phone. my son came running and together we ran the 50 yards back to where i last observed the object. it was gone. i was a air-rescue corpsman and a helicopter crew member. i am fully aware of aircraft lighting. the object i saw on 10/3/16 only had a white light the went full on and off as described.
