First Half: Analyst of geopolitics and foreign policy Craig B. Hulet will discuss the global regime of economic interdependence and how it results in conflicts all over the globe. He’ll detail how a new Chinese mining technology employed in a large gold mining operation in Siberia is poised to change the balance of world currencies, and weaken the dollar, as well as how the political climate of Mexico will shift as a response to US policy changes on NAFTA and immigration.

Second Half: With a master’s degree in history from Queens College, Thomas Hatsis is an historian of witchcraft, magic, Western religions, contemporary psychedelia, and medieval pharmacopeia. He’ll explore how herbs, poisons and psyche-magical ointments have triggered powerful visions of both the divine and the diabolical. Thomas will also talk about his life as a derby-gypsy, skating throughout the global roller derby underworld visiting rare archives, slinging elixirs, and coaching roller derby.
