Animal rescue workers in Australia managed to save a confused koala that had somehow gotten stuck underneath a car and endured a ten-mile trip before being found.

Despite attempts by other motorists to alert the man driving the vehicle that he had the strange stowaway, the creature went unnoticed by the driver until he stopped and heard it crying.

Fortunately, an organization which works to protect koalas was quick to arrive on the scene along with firefighters who helped to free the animal from beneath the vehicle.

Although the koala was extremely distressed from its misadventure, officials say that it suffered no injuries and was released back into the wild after a being observed for a few days.
